Gary Distelhorst
Garis F. Distelhorst, CAE, is Executive Vice President and CEO of the MIA (Marble Institute of America, Inc.), the international trade association for the natural stone industry (marble, granite, limestone, slate, etc.). MIA was founded in 1944 and has as its mission to promote the use of natural stone and be the authoritative source of information on standards of workmanship and practice and the suitable application of stone products. Distelhorst joined MIA in 2002 and has launched several new initiatives designed to expand the association’s membership, influence, and image. Under his leadership, the MIA membership has grown by over 250 % to 2,000 companies globally, and revenue has increased by nearly 400%.
